Unity of Madison Update (3/17/2020)

Greetings, Unity of Madison!
Rev. Evin here! I wanted to give an update as to the status of our Sunday services. After much prayer and thought, the board and I have decided to continue to live stream our Sunday services (in lieu of holding in-person services) through the end of March. We will re-group at that time and evaluate the situation based on information from our local officials and healthcare professionals.
We are also currently closing the building to all small group usage to ensure the safety of our community and to help do our part to prevent the spread of COVID-19. This includes both Unity and non-Unity scheduled classes, events and workshops. (Some groups may choose to hold their classes online and will reach out to you if this is the case.)
This does not mean that our community will not remain intact however. We are currently implementing new ways to continue with small groups and to keep in touch with each other. One of these is via a program called Zoom (https://zoom.us). This is a program that will allow us to continue with small groups, along with the ability to see each other via video camera. It can be used on a smart phone or computer. Please do not let technology get in the way of maintaining your small groups. I am happy to assist anyone who wishes to use this program. (I wrote technical manuals for a living not so long ago and it looks like those skills are coming in handy!)
Another option you have to keep in touch is through our new Unity of Madison blog forum that can be found here: https://unityofmadison.wordpress.com/blog-2. This is a way for us to be able to share our thoughts with each other during this time and is open to anyone who attends this church whether are officially a member or not. Just click the link I just shared and scroll down the page to see posts. You will also notice a Subscribe button at the bottom. Enter your email address and then click Subscribe if you would like to be notified anytime there is a new post. If you wish to have your thoughts shared with our community and on this new blog site, please send them to me at: minister@unityofmadison.org. I will then post them for you. I can share your name or share it anonymously...whichever you prefer.
I will be posting short videos on our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/UnityofMadisonon Tuesdays and Thursdays at noon. These will offer some spirituality and a bit of prayer and meditation! They will be recorded and will be there for you to watch at any time.
Please continue to check our website (www.unityofmadison.org), our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/UnityofMadison), send us an email (office@unityofmadison.org), or reach out to the church for any questions. If you do choose to call the church, I ask that you please be patient as Jonathan and/or I may not be able to get back to you right away.
Please also be aware that church operations and staff are still in place, so your continued donations are so very welcome and appreciated at this time. You may continue to make those via our website (www.unityofmadison.org). Just click the Donate button and you may pay with credit card, debit card or check. We also still accept cash if you wish to contact us during our business hours and then bring it directly to the church.
Please continue to follow the advice of our local officials and healthcare experts. We will be doing the same and remember that there is only Oneness. As a result, we are all in this together and together, we will also get through this.
