Helping in the Church Office
What We Do
The office staff provides support to the minister and paid staff.
The office is open 20 hours per week and is located in the house next to the church at 705 Tompkins Drive where we have paid staff offices as well as space for our invaluable volunteers.
How You Can Help
On-site volunteer opportunities:
Some work is done on site during office hours and includes duties such as reception, data entry, setting up for events, and putting together the information for our Sunday visitors.
For the person who:
- has 1-2 hour(s) per week
- is reliable
- communicates well
- works independently or in groups
- one to six-month commitment is preferred
Off site opportunities:
Other jobs can be done off site whenever is convenient for the volunteer. These include editing, creating fliers or PowerPoint slide shows used during Sunday services.
Shopper: there is a special volunteer opportunity for the person who:
- likes to shop or already does personal errands
- has about 2 hours / month to contribute
- requires flexibility
- can use a shopping list
- likes to work solo
- is detail oriented
- is reliable
All assignments are tailor-made for each volunteer depending upon their interest and experience. Young people (aged 12+) are welcome too with parent/guardian permission. Training provided.
