Dia de los Muertos

Día de los Muertos is a vibrant tradition rooted in Mexican heritage and indigenous cultures, honoring loved ones who have passed.  The practice of honoring our ancestors is ancient and many of us grew up with a similar commemoration, All Saint's Day, which falls the day after Halloween.  On Sunday, November 2, we invite you to bring in photos, personal objects, or mementos to call your loved ones close in heart and mind.  An 'ofrenda' or altar of remembrance will be set up in the sanctuary as a central gathering place for your memories.  It will be adorned with symbols of the essential elements as well as your photos and mementos.  Please place your items on the ofrenda before the Sunday service begins.  The movie "Coco" will be shown upstairs beginning at 11:45 AM on Sunday, November 2.
