Nature Hike

Governor Nelson State Park
Sunday, July 20th at 2 PM

The general goal of our Resilience Saunters is to have a relaxing time exploring nature and enjoying fellowship with friends in a natural setting.  No specific mileage, but it’s generally been about 2 miles.  We aim to finish by 3:30 to have you home in time for your evening BBQ.  There is always the option for group dining at a local eatery afterward.

Summer wildflowers should be coming along nicely.  Habitats are primarily prairie and woods.  Come prepared for bugs.  Ticks have not been bad, with the heat.  Mosquitoes might be.  Wear comfy footwear, and bring camera and water as needed.  Sunscreen.
Rain or shine or snow.

This is a State Park, so requires either annual or daily admission sticker.  Office may not be open, so be prepared to pay by cash in a self-pay station.  $28 annual, $8 daily.  The park is located at 5140 Co Hwy M, Waunakee, WI 53597.

Sign up at Unity of Madison or call the office.  There is an expanded information sheet on the table in the foyer. The hikes are led by Jeff Nesta and Bob Bennicoff.
