The Advent Banners in Unity of Madison
By Carol McCullough-Dieter
I had the pleasure of working with a wonderful group of women to create the Advent banners that are hanging in the church for the Advent season (Figure 1). Hand painting silk is a many-step process, which I learned from a talented artist on Maui, who creates kimonos and fabric by the yard for other artists. I have made scarves, pillows, silk shirts, and even toys with my own hand painted silk.
Some of you received this as an insert in last Sunday's bulletin.
Dennis "Rocky" King (Lalutakehtas of Bear Clan) brings his gifts as a sacred healer to Unity of Madison on Saturday, December 30. Rocky works holistically with his clients using the sacred songs of his people, the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin.
Thank you to all who assisted and attended Sunday's HUG meeting.
We're looking to hire a Youth Ministry Teacher for our Youth Ed program. Position will report to Director of Youth Ministry. 2 Sundays per month; 3 hours per week (2 hours in the classroom Sunday am, 1 hour prep).
Thanks to everyone who attended, baked, set-up and cleaned-up! We had 30+ attendees for this informal format replacing the "traditional" Town Hall setting.
