Many of us have considered becoming a prayer chaplain but have doubted our ability to find the divinely right prayer for each individual. Jean Tupper had the same doubts, the same concerns.

The Advent Banners in Unity of Madison

By Carol McCullough-Dieter

I had the pleasure of working with a wonderful group of women to create the Advent banners that are hanging in the church for the Advent season (Figure 1). Hand painting silk is a many-step process, which I learned from a talented artist on Maui, who creates kimonos and fabric by the yard for other artists. I have made scarves, pillows, silk shirts, and even toys with my own hand painted silk.
